About This Opportunity
The University of Queensland is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Candidate Experience to play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the end-to-end experience of higher degree by research (HDR) candidates. Based within the UQ Graduate Research School, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence how HDR candidates engage with the University from commencement through to conferral, contributing directly to a vibrant, inclusive and supportive research training environment.
Working in close partnership with academic and professional colleagues across the University, you will lead the coordination of high-profile HDR initiatives, programs and events that foster community, wellbeing and professional development. This is a highly collaborative and visible role suited to an experienced coordinator who is passionate about student experience, stakeholder engagement and making a tangible impact within a world-class research institution.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design, coordination and delivery of university-wide HDR candidate experience initiatives, programs and flagship events that enhance engagement, wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across academic units, professional services and student bodies to ensure a coordinated, inclusive and responsive approach to HDR support.
- Provide strategic advice and insights to UQ Graduate School leadership on emerging trends, priorities and opportunities in HDR candidate experience, contributing to broader HDR strategy and planning.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, communication and evaluation of an annual calendar of HDR engagement activities, ensuring high-quality outcomes, strong participation and continuous improvement.

About You
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering high-quality engagement initiatives, programs or events, ideally within higher education, research, government or not-for-profit environments.
- Strong project and event management capability, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage logistics and deliver outcomes to tight timeframes.
- A passion for enhancing the experience, wellbeing and professional development of higher degree students or researchers, with experience in co-curricular or pastoral initiatives highly regarded.
- Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities, work independently and contribute effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences while delivering a high standard of client service and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to build trusted, productive relationships and approach challenges with sound judgement, initiative and a solutions-focused mindset.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
