Position Highlights

The Senior Coordinator, Student Engagement supports the planning and implementation of campus-wide programs and signature engagement initiatives that foster student connection and community at the University of Arizona. This position provides operational leadership for events and traditions, collaborates with campus partners, and supports student leader development. The Senior Coordinator works under the direction of the Assistant Director to help ensure programs are well-executed and aligned with divisional engagement priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of campus-wide programs, traditions, and large-scale student engagement events.
  • Provide programmatic support for key engagement initiatives such as Wildcat Events Board, ZonaZoo, Bear Down Camp, Bear Down Music Festival, First Cats, the Engagement Series, and other university-wide events.
  • Manage event logistics including space reservations, vendor coordination, contract processing support, timelines, and day-of-event operations.
  • Support vendor and community engagement efforts connected to student programming.
  • Ensure events are welcoming, positive, and responsive to the needs of various student communities.
  • Provide day-to-day advising and support to student leaders, volunteers, and program teams connected to Student Engagement & Traditions initiatives.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and coordination of student staff and volunteers.
  • Facilitate planning meetings and provide guidance on event development, risk awareness, and university procedures.
  • Support student leadership development through hands-on programming experiences tied to campus traditions and engagement programs.
  • Assist in the promotion and marketing of Student Engagement & Traditions programs and events.
  • Provide presentations and coordinate outreach efforts to increase awareness and participation across various student populations.
  • Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, vendors, and community partners to support cross-campus engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with collecting and organizing program assessment data, including attendance, feedback, and engagement outcomes.
  • Ensure programs follow departmental and university policies, procedures, and risk management guidelines.
  • Support research and documentation efforts that inform program improvement.
  • Serve on committees or work groups and contribute to broader Student Engagement & Traditions and Dean of Students Office initiatives.
  • Track program expenses and assist with budget monitoring and reconciliation.
  • Process purchase requests, payments, reimbursements, and financial documentation in accordance with university procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial and program records.
  • Support data collection and documentation for funding requests and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.
