Senior Event and Visitor Experience Coordinator
The Senior Event and Visitor Experience Coordinator at the Wexner Center for the Arts provides day-to-day leadership to ensure seamless, safe, and rewarding visitor experiences. They oversee public spaces, foster cross-unit collaboration, and maintain the highest standards of customer service across programs and events. In this role, the coordinator also serves as a key partner with OSUs Department of Public Safety, CampusParc, custodial services and other external stakeholders, while acting as the primary liaison for the centers cafe operator, supporting lease negotiations, maintenance, and collaborative promotions that align with Wex programming.
Alongside operational oversight, the Senior Event and Visitor Experience Coordinator plays a central role in event execution and staff coordination. They manage events in partnership with the Events team, serve as day-of contact for Wex, CASE, and rental activities, and step into leadership roles when needed. Additionally, they supervise bar operations, including scheduling and compliance, ensuring smooth service during events. By blending operational management, partnership building, and event leadership, the Assistant Operations Manager supports the Wexner Centers mission while enhancing the quality and consistency of visitor engagement.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in arts, humanities, or a related field and at least 4+ years of experience in a museum, cultural organization, public engagement, or public programming or events management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Experience coordinating multiple venue schedules.
- Background in professional arts/events management, development, and/or nonprofit organizations.
- Strong communication skills, including discretion with sensitive information.
- Experience coordinating events for adult audiences and integrating feedback into planning.
- Basic understanding of audience engagement and outreach strategies.
- Skill in public presentation and convening diverse groups.
- Strong cultural competency and awareness of cultural identities/differences.
- Experience managing budgets, including projections and expense tracking.
- Ability to adapt and remain flexible in fast-paced, changing environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to improvise when needed.
- Proactive, independent work style with experience mediating/facilitating discussions across diverse backgrounds, ages, abilities, and perspectives.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of OSU operating systems and accessibility policies/procedures.
- Professional development training in accessibility.
- Five years of successful event management experience.
- Broad knowledge of contemporary theater, dance, music, and visual arts.
- Familiarity with the programming and facilities of the Wexner Center for the Arts.

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $44,400 - $58,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
