Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cape Cod Community College's Center for Community and Professional Education (CCAPE) is seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader to serve as Senior Manager of Employer Engagement and Workforce Partnerships. This is a unique opportunity to shape the region's workforce, strengthen local industries, and directly impact economic growth by securing training contracts with private employers and building high-value partnerships that help our region develop, attract, and retain top talent. In this role, the Senior Manager of Employer Engagement and Workforce Partnerships will be leading employer outreach, building strategic alliances, and generating measurable results. The Senior Manager will work closely with local and regional stakeholders, including MassHire Workforce Boards, industry associations, chambers of commerce, the Blue Economy Foundation, and other business and community leaders, to identify workforce needs, design training solutions, and connect employers with resources that drive success. This position works hand-in-hand with the Director/Chief Workforce Development Officer to ensure alignment with CCAPE's departmental goals and requires the highest level of integrity and professional autonomy to carry out responsibilities effectively.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

The Senior Manager will lead CCAPE's private employer engagement strategy from prospecting to contract execution, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, revenue-generating workforce solutions including the following:

  • Develop and implement a targeted outreach strategy to secure private employer contracts that meet or exceed 50% of CCAPE's annual revenue goal.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across industries to promote CCAPE's training services and design tailored workforce solutions.
  • Conduct extensive outreach and partnership-building with MassHire Workforce Boards, industry associations, chambers of commerce, the Blue Economy Foundation, and other key partners.
  • Identify and secure funding resources, including the Workforce Training Fund Program, Department of Higher Education Workforce Incentive Fund Appropriation, and other state, federal, and private sources.
  • Collaborate with a Program Coordinator to implement employer training projects efficiently, ensuring mutual support and equitable sharing of routine administrative tasks to maintain continuity and effective workflow.
  • Collaborate with employers, consortium groups, and community partners to develop and submit competitive employer grant proposals.
  • Partner with CCAPE staff and internal college stakeholders (as applicable) to align employer training with institutional and regional workforce goals.
  • Manage the delivery of all employer training programs, ensuring quality instruction, effective trainer performance, and positive participant outcomes.
  • Track, analyze, and report training results to both the College and funders.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales or revenue goals in a B2B or workforce training.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in corporate, higher education, chamber of commerce, or workforce settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership while exercising sound judgment, integrity, and autonomy in fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of generating revenue through the development and sale of value-added services or programs with demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales or revenue goals in a B2B or workforce training.
  • Strong experience in grant writing or employer training proposal development.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects into signed contracts.
  • A track record of thriving in fast-paced, results-oriented environments.
  • Knowledge of workforce development, employer relations, and regional industry needs.
  • Possess strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities, along with experience in workforce training methodologies.
  • Experience developing, managing, and analyzing employer training budgets, with a demonstrated ability to align expenditures and pricing strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and budgetary goals.
  • Strong presentation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management (Salesforce), presentation tools, and comfort with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or MS Teams.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Established network of contacts within regional industries, chambers of commerce, and workforce development organizations.
  • Experience representing an organization at high-profile industry and community events.
  • Experience securing and managing contracts with private sector employers, particularly in industries critical to the Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts economy.
  • Knowledge of noncredit workforce education and the role of community colleges in regional economic development.
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Proven track record of navigating and leveraging state and federal workforce funding programs (e.g., Workforce Training Fund, Workforce Incentive Fund).
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to design, price, and close custom training solutions.
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking employer engagement and sales pipelines.
  • Ability to translate workforce needs into customized training program design in collaboration with faculty and trainers.
  • Master's degree in Business or related field.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION: Annual salary range of $85,000-$90,000, dependent upon qualifications. Full-time, benefited, Non-Unit Professional position including participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program and the option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.
