Senior Project Officer, Indigenous Strategy and Services

The Indigenous Strategy and Services team is looking for a self driven and highly motivated Identified Senior Project Officer to join their high performing team. In this role, you will provide project management support and specialist advice to coordinate the effective implementation of project plans, activities, and tasks across multiple workstreams of the One Sydney, Many People strategy. You will coordinate multiple project stakeholders and manage effective communication to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- provide strategic project management support and advice to guide the planning, scoping, and establishment of initiatives aligned with DVC-ISS priorities
- work collaboratively across teams to develop clear, achievable project plans that align with strategic objectives and reflect diverse stakeholder input
- coordinate logistics across multiple projects, providing practical advice to support team performance, resource allocation, and delivery timelines
- monitor project budgets and generate expenditure reports, proactively identifying and implementing adjustments to keep projects on track
- establish and maintain governance processes to monitor performance, manage risks, and support business cases and reporting requirements
- build strong relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders and lead communication strategies that keep them informed, engaged, and aligned
- track budgets and financials, ensuring cost allocations are accurate and any issues are addressed promptly to support project success
- support culturally responsive engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and communities, ensuring project activities reflect respectful and inclusive practices
- contribute to project evaluation and reporting, including KPIs and success metrics, in line with DVC-ISS strategic frameworks.
About you
- excellent customer service skills together with well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- strong problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
- well-developed interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
