- Base salary will range from $95,361 - $102,302 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)
- Based at the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) at our Herston campus

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Research Assistant to join the dedicated research team at UQ’s Queensland Aphasia Research Centre (QARC). QARC is committed to optimising the lives of people living with aphasia through research, service, and partnerships and is the first centre of its kind in Australia. As the Senior Research Assistant, you will support research conducted within the Digital Health Stream of the Medical Research Future Fund project: “Overcoming Systemic Barriers in Aphasia Care with the Aphasia Treatment Translation Network (ATTAIN).” This five-year initiative aims to improve post-stroke aphasia care through evidence translation and collaborative implementation across health services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with literature searching and the development of research protocols.
- Ensure compliance with approved ethics protocols.
- Support participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis for technology development and testing activities.
- Liaise with a range of stakeholders including participants, people with aphasia, family members, clinicians, and members of the software design and development team.
- Contribute to research outputs, including preparation and authorship of reports/manuscripts.
About You
- Completion of a relevant degree in allied health or a health-related discipline, with subsequent experience in a research support role.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills, with an ability to forward plan and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- High level of adaptability ensuring you can work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a research environment.
- Experience supporting technology development and/or experience with mixed-methods data analysis is desirable.
Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks including verification of the right to work in Australia (employer-sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment) and mandatory immunisations. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
