Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Sign Crafter for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Works independently reporting directly to a second level supervisor in the design, fabrication and installation of computer generated signs, symbols and other graphics as requested by university departments university-wide.
• Such duties may be based on work orders which provide little or no instruction or assistance.
• Responsible for ordering materials and supplies and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies for the continuous functioning of the shop.
• Responsible for estimation of labor costs and materials and the coordination of work within the shop.
• May guide and instruct apprentices and/or other employees in the preparation and installation of signs
• May be assigned to perform general duties in the facilities area.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent, plus four years experience using basic mechanical skills laying out, preparing and installing signs of various sizes using fastening devices.
