Simulated Client Actor: Temporary Worker - Norman Campus
Job Description
The Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work is seeking Standardized Clients for our Social Simulation Center on the Norman Campus.
Standardized Clients (SCs) portray patients with mental health conditions or life challenges, providing consistent accounts and responses during simulations. They help students practice interviewing and clinical conversations on issues like anxiety, substance use, and suicidality. SCs are trained to give feedback on communication skills and are audio- and video-recorded.
Essential Duties:
- Simulate all aspects of various scenarios accurately, reliably, and professionally
- Responsibly maintain own schedule and demonstrate flexibility
- Attend mandatory trainings and meetings
- Accept ongoing feedback and incorporate it into simulations
- Follow instructions and respond to communications timely
- Provide constructive verbal feedback to learners
- Provide occasional event facilitation support
- Maintain confidentiality
- Attend training as scheduled
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Must be able to assume a patient role, work in a team, follow directions, provide consistent performances, and be available for various shifts.
Department Preferences: Acting experience with improvisation skills is helpful but not required.
Advertised Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and respond to simulated stressful situations.
