Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking qualified teachers who are interested in working with students in grades 2-4 (SMEK Junior) or 5-8 (SMEK Senior) or K-1 (SMEK Littles) to provide an engaging, hands-on learning experience in a three-day STEM camp. SMEK Junior will take place July 14th-16th, 2026 and SMEK Senior will take place July 21nd-23th, 2026, and SMEK Littles July 28th-30th.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with other presenters assigned to the event
• Use the STEM@SVSU Behavior Matrix with Student Interaction
• Help maintain a safe and comfortable learning environment for all students attending SMEK
• Help supervise students during breaks and other times when student activity is fluid or in flux
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

General supervision is received from the STEM Outreach Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• K-12 Certified Teacher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Experience and ability to positively interact with a diverse campus community.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Duties are generally performed inside but may include outside seasonal activities.
• All work associated with this role must be performed within the state of Michigan.
