Special Purpose Faculty - Marketing
Job Description
The Department of Marketing in the Davis College of Business and Economics at Radford University invites applications for a full-time Special Purpose faculty appointment in Marketing beginning August 2026. The position involves teaching four classes each semester and providing service at the departmental, college and university levels. We are seeking a dynamic educator who is passionate about teaching and mentoring business/marketing students. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, including experience with applied learning and experiential education. Responsibilities include teaching a wide variety of marketing courses as well as the College’s first-year experience course. The standard teaching load is 4 courses per semester (8 courses per year). Most of these courses would be in-person, however occasionally online courses may also be assigned. This appointment is contingent on final approval from the Provost’s Office and may be renewed subject to budgetary approval.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a master's degree in marketing, business, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with a master's degree will be considered if they possess recent, sustained professional experience that is substantive in terms of level of responsibility and related to the area of teaching. Applicants must be considered a qualified instructor per AACSB accreditation requirements as well as by the standards of the Davis College of Business and Economics. This typically entails substantial experience for those with a master’s degree or an active research portfolio for those with a doctoral degree. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining necessary faculty qualifications per the standards of the Davis College of Business and Economics.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of successful instructional experience at the college level and a graduate degree from an AACSB-accredited business school is preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates with experience and interest in teaching Principles of Marketing, Retailing, and a variety of other marketing courses.
