Specialist, American Sign Language (ASL) - Part Time
This position provides support to the assigned department or program, with a focus on facilitating communication in American Sign Language and ensuring inclusive support for Deaf faculty, students, and community members.
Requirements: High school diploma/GED and three years of related office experience required OR actively pursuing an Associate's Degree in American Sign Language or related field or graduated/transfer within the past semester. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language is required. Two years experience working in sign language interpretation, preferred. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent communications skills in spoken/written and sign language.
Duties:
- Provide academic program information and assistance to students, faculty, administrators, and the college community.
- Maintain strong relationships and coordination between the department/program and internal or external organizations.
- Screen and direct phone calls and respond to inquiries.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
