Job Summary
Assist with overall Accounting and financial reporting of University operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, review and abide by Division or Department internal control procedures
- Prepare, approve, post, and reconcile financial transactions for the preparation and review of the University's financial statements
- Prepare reconciliation and analysis of accounting records in connection with data requests
- Review accounting documents to verify conformity to pertinent policies, procedures, and accounting standards
- Develop and maintain reporting tools and guidelines to provide superior financial information which supports University's mission, strategic management initiatives, and leadership vision
- Participate in the preparation, review, and analysis of the University's annual financial statements by applying in-depth knowledge and analysis of applicable Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), Georgia Budgetary Law, and USG policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting
Required Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in accounting field
Proposed Salary
$70,000
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

- Ability to problem solve, manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to monitor and collect data and assess accuracy and integrity of data
- Ability to analyze data, ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations and systems of internal control
- Ability to interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation, and create financial reports and /or presentations
KNOWLEDGE
- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application to cost, governmental and non-governmental accounting
- Familiar with and apply General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), competencies with accounting and other systems, financial and budget applications and reporting conventions, and have ability to professionally interact with various levels of faculty and staff personnel while adhering to Institutional, State, and Federal laws, policies and procedures

- Effective detail orientation skills
