About This Opportunity
The Property and Facilities Division is seeking a reliable and hands-on Stores and Logistics Assistant to join the Warehouse and Mailroom team at UQ.
This role became available following the internal movement of the previous incumbent and presents a strong opportunity for succession within a critical operational area. The position supports day-to-day campus operations through logistics, removals, warehousing and mail services, ensuring the timely and safe movement of goods, equipment and materials across UQ campuses.
This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, variety in their day and being part of a small, collaborative team delivering essential services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking small office relocations, furniture moves and waste disposal
- Processing, preparation and dispatch of internal and external mail
- Receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching products and equipment
- Supporting inventory control, record keeping and basic data entry
- Maintaining warehouse standards and safe work practices
- Collection, transport and delivery of mail, stores, furniture, library materials and equipment
- Providing support across all aspects of warehouse and mailroom operations
- Backfilling for team members and assisting with additional duties as required

About You:
- Completion of Year 12, or Certificate II with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift license preferred
- Physically fit and able to safely perform manual handling duties
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a hands-on operational environment
- Sound communication and customer service skills
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
- Current Queensland Open Driver Licence
- Basic computer literacy, with willingness to learn warehouse and logistics systems
