Job Summary

Position Summary: The Student Photographer will support the Division of Student Affairs by capturing high-quality photos that highlight campus life, student events, and departmental initiatives. This role plays a key part in showcasing the university's vibrant community through digital and print media, helping to tell the story of student engagement and involvement on campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Photograph Student Affairs programs, events, and initiatives on campus.
  • Edit and organize photos for use in social media, newsletters, websites, and marketing materials.
  • Maintain a consistent visual style that aligns with the university's brand standards.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to plan photo needs in advance and meet project deadlines.
  • Assist with digital archiving and maintaining a photo library for the division.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to communications and marketing support.

Must provide a cover letter, resume, and sample of photography in order to be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.
  • Prior experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and photography techniques
  • Strong editing skills with software such as Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop
  • Ability to work independently and with a team and is reliable
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends depending on the events
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Owns their own camera
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Action shot experience

Physical Requirements

  • May need to lift up to 20lbs and be on feet for extended amount of time
