Student Progress Coordinator

The University of London

The University of London is one of the largest and most diverse higher education institutions in the world and is a leading provider of online, distance learning. In 1858, we made our degrees available to study anywhere in the world. Today, we have more than 40,000 students in over 190 countries, studying on 100+ degrees, diplomas and certificates.

The Role

The Student Outcomes Team, responsible for drawing together student voice, student surveys and key programme support initiatives into improving student retention and outcomes, is seeking to recruit a Student Progress Coordinator (12 months FTC – maternity cover).

The Student Progress Coordinator will work closely with the Student Progress Manager in developing and implementing processes to support a growing portfolio of student engagement initiatives.

The role will involve assisting with the establishment of processes to identify students at high risk of disengagement or dropping out, defining criteria for risk assessment, and working collaboratively to address challenges (within the university's influence) that may hinder their progress.

The post-holder will identify and contact students who need support and help to remove any roadblocks they face so that they may continue their studies, taking a ‘test and learn’ approach to engaging students at an individual and group level. As UoL Worldwide programmes are distance-learning, the role requires innovation and adaptability, recognising what may engage one student group, may be different from another.

The duties of the role will always be focused on improving student retention, and the day to day duties may change as we roll out new – and expand existing – activities that are designed to enhance engagement, retention and completion.

For a full role profile, please refer to the job description below.

Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.

The University of London is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive working environment where we can all be ourselves and succeed. We particularly encourage applications from members of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities as this group is currently under-represented at all levels within the University. All appointments will be made on merit, based on the criteria identified in the job description.
