About the role

The History of Science Museum at the University of Oxford is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual as its curator of the Scientific Revolution and Industrial Age(s) with a special emphasis on the Museum’s globally important collection of microscopes, and in particular the recently acquired Paul Greenbaum collection.

This exciting new role focusses on the development, interpretation, and contextualisation of objects and associated material from approximately 1750-1900 in a dynamically changing discourse.

The postholder will contribute to research, teaching and public engagement and will thus have an outstanding ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences onsite, offsite and online. About You

You will have a PhD degree in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent experience, with significant experience in museum curation, particularly with historical or scientific collections from the 1750-1900 period and microscopes.
