"Senior Technical Specialist (NXCT-Manchester Software Lead)"

In this role you will be leading on industrial projects, fostering industrial collaborations, facilitating the transfer of knowledge, and generally serving as the industrial liaison for NXCT at Manchester. You will be supporting academic and industrial users in collecting X-ray CT data, either working together or on their behalf. The role will include optimising X-ray CT measurements and data collection and, utilising our state-of-the-art visualisation suite, analysing data for in situ and time lapse data using a range of 3D image analysis software. You will identify areas for improvement and leverage your expertise to develop innovative hardware and software solutions for NXCT users.

Working as part of a team, including with internal and external colleagues, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of the NXCT facilities, both hardware and software, with a particular focus on hardware. You will supervise the facility environment, taking responsibility for relevant aspects of health and safety, and managing the prioritisation, distribution and scheduling of user projects. You will also be responsible for the line management of technical staff, including planning their work, monitoring their performance and supporting their professional development. You will promote the technical achievements of the Manchester lab and collaborate with the technical staff across the NXCT partners to share best practice and address common challenges.
