Job Summary

The Student Services Coordinator is a highly visible and student-centered professional responsible for creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. This individual serves as the primary liaison between students and the Office of Student Services, delivering wellness programs, supporting student life, and coordinating major student-focused events throughout the academic year. The Coordinator will work closely with university wellness partners, faculty, staff, and students to ensure students feel connected, supported, and cared for from orientation through graduation. This position plays a key role in helping students navigate their academic journey and contributes to a positive, responsive, and community-oriented culture within the College. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

  • 30% - Essential - Student Wellness & Support: Serve as the College's main liaison to the University's wellness and well-being programs. Coordinate wellness-related workshops, initiatives, and events tailored to the needs of professional students and offer administrative support to CVM Mental Health Professionals. Monitor student feedback and concerns, ensuring timely, appropriate, and compassionate follow-up and support.
  • 30% - Essential - Student Life Programming & Events: Plan, organize, and manage signature student events, including Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, Graduation, Honors and Awards events, and other key student-facing programs. Support college-wide student engagement initiatives and special events throughout the academic year. Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure events reflect the College's mission and student needs.
  • 25% - Essential - Communication & Outreach: Serve as a primary point of contact for student questions and concerns related to student services. Maintain regular communication with students regarding upcoming events, resources, and campus updates. Support student organizations and class officers in event planning and resource coordination (CCEM supporting responsibility).
  • 15% - Essential - Student Ambassadors and Peer Programs: Partner with the Campus and Community Engagement Program Manager to recruit, train, and supervise student ambassadors/tour guides. Support ambassador participation in recruitment events, tours, and student panels.

Minimum Requirements

Education - Bachelor's Degree. Work Experience - 2+ years of experience working in student affairs, student services, or event planning with a higher education or professional school setting.

Preferred Requirements

Education - Master's Degree - Higher education, student affairs, or related field. Work Experience - 1+ years of experience working with graduate or professional student populations. Familiarity with wellness programming or student success initiatives. Experience supervising or mentoring student leaders or peer educators.

Responsibilities

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees. BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

Work Schedule

Standard Hours: 37.5.

Compensation Information

Anticipated Hiring Range: $37,500 - $50,000. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Essential Personnel Level

Normal Operations. Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
