Job Summary
The College of Liberal Arts' Flight Education department is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Control & Inventory Supervisor to support its aviation training operations. Reporting to the Director of Aircraft Maintenance, this role is responsible for purchasing, tracking, and maintaining inventory levels to support the Department of Flight Education in the School of Aviation. The maintenance control supervisor tracks scheduled service inspections and collaborates with flight ops personnel to coordinate the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance needs of university training aircraft.
Essential Functions
- Plans and tracks scheduled maintenance inspections for the flight education department. Coordinates scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events between flight operations and maintenance with consideration to workload, staffing levels, and minimizing aircraft downtime.
- Manages aircraft use to balance scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with respect to resource downtime, flight training needs, maintenance personnel, and resource availability.
- Tracks, inspects, traces, and oversees stock-keeping units (SKUs) valued at over $400,000, which may require traceability by serial number, and confirmation of certificates of conformance/documentation. Assures accuracy of installed components by serial number to aircraft to meet federal airworthiness assurance requirements. Tracks, schedules, and coordinates the calibration of special tools and pieces of test equipment.
- Creates a daily aircraft status report for the School of Aviation leadership, as well as flight and maintenance personnel, which details current and upcoming aircraft availability for each department's planning purposes.
- Conducts in-house training for maintenance personnel regarding policies, procedures, and the computer-based resource management system (RMS). Manages RMS account activation and access for operations and maintenance personnel.
- Provides reports and analysis on inventory levels, costs, and discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance. Responsible for gathering and analyzing aircraft maintenance reports, identifying and resolving problems and inefficiencies.
- Connects with vendors using network of industry contacts, including OEMs and repair facilities. Facilitates the purchase of aircraft parts while negotiating competitive market pricing.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance facility and aviation supply procedures, including aircraft parts and inventory.
Minimum Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and guidelines;
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance logs, AD's, ICA's, and 14 CFR part 91 and part 43;
- Strong Interpersonal and communication skills within a matrix management structure.

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Maintenance, or related field desired.
- Inventory Locator Service (ILS) or PartsBase software experience desired.
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance and supply procedures, including parts and inventory purchasing, is desired.
Salary Range: $57,990-$98,580
