We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our in‑house Facilities team and oversee day‑to‑day maintenance operations across a complex, multi‑site environment.
This role involves the direct supervision, development and performance management of Facilities Officers, along with the coordinated oversight of on‑site contractors. You will ensure maintenance activities are delivered efficiently, safely and to a high standard, supporting a diverse operational landscape where priorities can shift quickly.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and supervise the internal Facilities team, ensuring consistent, high‑quality service delivery.
- Manage and coordinate external contractors as required, ensuring alignment with operational and compliance standards.
- Allocate work, set priorities and monitor progress in line with organisational objectives.
- Foster a culture of customer service, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with WH&S legislation, organisational policies and risk management processes.
- Contribute to planning and improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within a dynamic environment.
About the person
You are an experienced maintenance or facilities leader with a strong background managing in‑house teams in a tertiary, institutional or similarly multifaceted environment. You thrive in a busy, fast‑paced setting and can juggle multiple competing priorities without compromising quality or safety.
You will have:
- Qualifications or significant experience in maintenance or facilities management.
- Demonstrated experience supervising internal staff within a complex operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance processes, WH&S requirements and sustainability practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Proven ability to multi‑task, manage competing deadlines and maintain high standards under pressure.
- Strong problem‑solving, organisational and reporting capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience preparing accurate documentation and reports.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
Salary details
The salary for the position commences at $96,222.23 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
