- Remuneration: $111,341 to $120,557 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $94,084 to $101,872 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Technical Officer HVAC Systems to join Facilities Management, Administrative Division.
The Technical Officer – HVAC Systems is responsible for the coordination of maintenance support in the area of HVAC. The role includes both trade and HVAC work and the contracting and supervision of external air conditioning suppliers and contractors. Additionally, the position organises and supervises minor works in the HVAC area. Working across all QUT campuses and sites, the Technical Officer – HVAC Systems works closely with other Facilities Management departments to ensure a reliable and efficient HVAC system is maintained at all times.

The Facilities Management Department within the Division of Administrative Services is responsible for managing the process of design, construction, maintenance and operation of the physical facilities, and the provision of a range of support services across the University's two main campuses at Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and a range of smaller offsite facilities.
What you need to succeed
1. Possess Queensland restricted Electrical, refrigerant handling and HVAC Trade license as well as a current C class drivers license. QBCC Mechanical Services Occupational license preferred, but not required.
2. Proven experience in a supervisory HVAC position across multiple sites including supervision of suppliers/contractors on the work site, and relevant contractual administration as well as experience in developing and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance strategies and systems.
3. Demonstrated skills in the operation and maintenance of primary/secondary chilled water central plant and other major air conditioning systems, as well as demonstrated knowledge of HVAC Building Management Systems
4. Developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues, clients, contractors and suppliers.
5. Proven analytical and problem solving skills in routine technical, administrative and financial tasks, including budget control.
6. Capability to meet the physical and technical requirements of the position, including climbing ladders, working at heights, manual handling, as well as experience with work management systems.
7. Extensive knowledge and understanding of Queensland Workplace Health and Safety legislation and practical application in the workplace.
