Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Provides technical expertise and support across the University's IT / auxiliary related enterprise systems which includes but is not limited to University Dining Services, Card Services, Copy/Print, Campus Postal Services, Central Receiving and Distribution, Door Access, Housing and Residence Life, KCash, Parking and Transportation, Student Health Services, University Stores, and Vending Services.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides technical and functional support for Campus Service's systems and services
- Implements the full lifecycle of IT systems and solutions, maintaining their security, stability, integrity, and recoverability
- Diagnoses and resolves problems
- Maintains system integrations and automations
- Develops and maintains documentation of systems, services, processes (including data flow), and procedures
- Provides on-call support on a rotational basis, responding to incidents on nights and weekends
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related IT experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge working with auxiliary service operations at an institution of higher learning preferred
In-depth knowledge in supporting point-of-sale transactional systems
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to work both as an integral member of a team environment and independently on projects and assignments with minimal supervision
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated expertise supporting one or more auxiliary related enterprise system, such as: point-of-sale systems and their operation, card and transactional systems and their operation, parking and transportation management systems, culinary and hospitality systems, or equivalently complex system
Demonstrated expertise in: Microsoft Active Directory concepts, administration of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, and IP networking fundamentals
Must be well versed in current technologies and industry best practices for their areas of responsibility
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

This is not a supervisory position.
This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
This position will not be required to drive.
This role is not considered a position of trust.
This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position may travel 1% - 24% of the time
This position does not require security clearance.
