The Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services is tasked with 4 major responsibilities. It spearheads the Law School's pipeline initiatives. It recruits, admits, awards, and matriculates students annually into UCI Law's full-time JD program. Annually, it receives 3000+ applications for an incoming JD class consisting of 160 seats. It also provides support and resources to all the law students in the areas of billing, collections, payments, disbursements, and loan administration. Finally, it administers the UCI Law Loan Repayment Assistance Program for eligible alumni.


The incumbent will support the programs and initiatives of all three units.



Responsibilities

Uses skills as an administrative operations professional to collaboratively manage, plan and administer the operations of the Admissions and Student Financial Services (SFS) office which consists of three units that put on various programming- Admissions, SFS, and Pipeline Initiatives. This position reports to the Dean of Admissions and SFS and performs short- and long-term planning for the organization including pipeline programs, recruitment, yield, and large group financial aid counseling sessions. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Administrative operations include budgetary financial management for the following functions: admissions, pipeline programs, student financial services, and / or contracts and grants.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $32.00- $35.00 (Hourly).



Required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
  • Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
  • Skills and experience in coordinating special events.
  • Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information with tact and discretion.
  • Skill in working collaboratively to prioritize work demands and resources to meet anticipated deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative, pay attention to detail, , organize workflow, establish a productive work environment, and follow through on assignments with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • 2-4 years relevant experience working with similar responsibilities.


Preferred:

  • Knowledge of UCI internal online Kuali Financial System (KFS) and Basic UCPath. 


Special Conditions:

  • Ability to work some Saturdays to meet department demands.
