Faculty (College of Arts and Sciences - Criminal Justice/Legal Studies)
The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a qualified member of the legal community to join the Faculty in the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. The successful candidate will have excellent opportunities to shape and contribute to the curriculum and culture of the department and be responsible for teaching in all areas of the department for majors. The department offers degrees in criminal justice and legal studies and recently added a program in fire science. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberal Arts education, Christian service, and the mission of the university. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is a full-time, 9-month position. Faculty rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, and research.
Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate or master's degree in criminal justice, legal studies or closely related field required
- Applicants who have the following will also be considered:
- ABD in criminal justice, legal studies, or in a closely related field OR
- Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies or a closely related field with significant criminal justice or legal studies teaching experience and experience as a paralegal or working with a paralegal
- Active member of the church of Christ
