The Machines in Motion Laboratory at the Tandon School of Engineering’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate/Researcher to join in exciting projects in the areas of robotic manipulation control, planning and learning.
New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States. The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at NYU Tandon educates future engineers who develop the physical systems and devices that modern society demands, from prosthetic limbs to autonomous robots, 3D printed sensors to metamaterials, and organ-on-a-chip to immunosensors.
The postdoctoral research scientist will work on the development of robotic manipulation control, planning and learning algorithms, with a special emphasis for in-hand manipulation and multi-robot object assembly.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $75,000.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with ample experience in manipulation planning, ideally task and motion planning (TAMP) as well as machine learning and a record of publications in top robotics conferences and journals.
