Description

 

The International Outreach Manager guides and counsels prospective and currently enrolled international students regarding university and immigration agencies rules and regulations. Assists in admissions processing for international students including; record maintenance, transcript evaluations and correspondence. Oversees territory management of SEVP high schools, community colleges, agent relations, and community partners. Responsible for reporting and issuing immigration documentation and enforcing university, state and federal policies and procedures as they pertain to international students. Assists in development of services and programs for international students; assists in the management of the CRM and acts as a representative during on and off campus recruiting events.

Duties:

  • Engages prospective international students concerning admission criteria of the university through prospective student communication via email, in-person and through social media platforms. Advises international students on a daily basis regarding academic programs and university entry requirements. Processes admissions decisions and advises students on record management based on alpha distribution.
  • Provides recruitment services including international student outreach, agent relation IRA Portal, documentation for DHS agencies, communication of scholarship letters and notification of I-20s. Evaluates applications received from prospective international students and communicates with agents through weekly reports of IRA Portal updates. Operates IRA downloads and sends to admissions evaluators for processing. Monitor’s enrollment and immigration status of current F-1 international students.
  • Coordinates with leadership to create recruitment content communications materials targeted to international student populations. Supports the increase of student applications and new student enrollment. Responsible for campus visits and tours in-person and virtually. Provides IRA Portal data processing analysis reports. Receives territory of SEVP High Schools, Community Colleges and agents’ inquiries.
  • Assists the leadership with systems solutions (CRM) to communicate to prospective students and to track students through the admissions funnel.
  • Designs automated workflows through Office of International Admissions and Student Services (OIAS) CRM’s and UHCL technology; collaborates with IT concerning interfaces. Maintains OIAS CRM’s in relation to Global Education and Initiatives. Designs and sets-up rules and processes using large complex data structures according to UHCL processing needs.
  • Participates in student recruitment events designed to attract international students and assists in development of services, programs, and policies for international students. May travel internationally to support recruitment plan.
  • Supports agent reporting, training, presentations, student communication, outreach and virtual and in-person visits. Serves as a Designated School Official and performs related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Two years of experience in international admissions counseling or recruiting and advising.
  3. Must have strong working knowledge of immigration regulations related to students in various visa categories, primarily F-1 status students.
  4. Thorough understanding of university policies regarding admission and enrollment.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing and to interact with a broad range of clientele.
  6. Must possess strong leadership skills and be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  7. Ability to organize and prioritize work and work under strict deadlines.
  8. Sensitivity to cultural diversity as well as the ability to provide professional and personal counseling.
  9. Designated School Official - signature authority on SEVIS I-20s and immigration related documents maintained at DHS agencies or U.S. Consulates.
  10. Knowledge of complex federal laws, regulations, procedures, forms, and best practices as they relate to the U.S. government and international admissions and student services populations within Global Initiatives and Education.

Desired:

Master's degree.

DSO experience working in International Admissions and Student Services, and Global Initiatives and Education in a higher education setting.
