Job Description:

The AACSB accredited Department of Business Administration at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia invites applications for a full-time, 1-year term appointment at the rank of Lecturer starting in August 2024, pending final administrative approval. This position is reporting to the department chair.

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $ 85,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The teaching load is 12 contact hours (4 courses) per semester with no more than three preparations per semester;
  • Specific teaching assignments include strategic management plus other possible management courses such as introduction to business, human resource management, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, business consulting, and others based on the instructor's expertise and on the departmental needs;
  • Be able to teach in traditional classroom, hybrid, and online modalities;
  • Service includes advising students, mentoring the student clubs, contributing to curriculum development/refinement as well as serving on departmental, college, and possibly university wide committees.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills;
  • Enthusiasm for participating in student-centered service activities.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master of business administration (MBA) or equivalent master degrees from an AACSB accredited program by the time of the appointment;
  • Expertise and/or related working experiences/research in strategy, general management, and entrepreneurship to maintain their qualifications as a Scholarly Academic (SA) as per the department's faculty qualifications guidelines;
  • Provide evidence of competence in teaching;
  • Demonstrate commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department missions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An ABD or a doctorate in management or business administration from an AACSB accredited program is preferred. 


Additional Information:

This is a full-time, temporary appointed, non-tenure track, UUP represented Lecturer position beginning Fall 2024 at a salary of $80,000-$85,000.
