"Postdoctoral Fellowship in Management and Organizations (Prof. Yuan Tanya Tian)"

Prof. Yuan (Tanya) Tian, Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations at NYU Shanghai, invites applications for the postdoctoral research fellow position in management and organizations beginning in Fall 2026.

The Fellow will work under the supervision of Professor Tian and is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to research excellence and scholarly entrepreneurship through a combination of independent research, collaboration, and community engagement. The Fellow is encouraged to pursue an active and ambitious independent research agenda that advances their academic trajectory, while also contributing to collaborative work. This may include participating in ongoing research initiatives and developing new projects jointly with faculty. In addition, the Fellow is expected to engage actively in the intellectual life of NYU Shanghai by taking part in seminars, workshops, and other academic activities.

Appointments will be made for two years. The position will be based in Shanghai, China. The appointment start date for non-Chinese applicants is subject to immigration regulations.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.

• Candidates should receive their PhD in Management and Organizations, Strategy or a related field by the time of appointment;
• Candidates with research focuses on organizational theory, science and innovation, and computational social science are particularly encouraged to apply;
• Experience with computational methods and large-scale data analysis is highly desirable;
• Candidates must be within three years of their PhD degree conferral when their fellowship starts at NYU Shanghai
