The Opportunity

Lesley’s Graduate Program in Expressive Therapies is seeking a qualified Drama Therapist to supervise a group of interns in their second of two placement years (PY). University Supervision for drama therapy students in Placement Year 2 (PY2) occurs in the third year of a three-year program.


This is a faculty supervisor role, overseeing a single group of art therapy students for the full academic year. The Adjunct Faculty member will teach a 2.5-day face-to-face workshop in Cambridge, MA from July 15 - 17th. This will be followed by online courses for Fall and Spring, including a biweekly zoom supervision meeting. This seminar will provide university supervision while the students are interning at PY2 placements.

 

Course Description

This is the first semester of a yearlong supervision seminar in drama therapy and clinical mental health counseling.  Students explore case material, group dynamics, and the use of drama therapy. There is a focus on the advancement of clinical competencies in drama therapy and mental health counseling, including diagnosis, assessment, treatment planning and termination. Professional identity and preparation for entry into the field via licensure and credentialing are addressed.

              Wednesdays 4-6pm biweekly low-res supervision on zoom

              FA and SP virtual and online

 

Qualities and Capabilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • A master’s degree in drama therapy and the RDT credential.
  • A masters'-level clinical license in their state of residence, or licensure eligibility with a commitment to gaining licensure within the year.
  • A full 3 years of work experience in counseling and drama therapy.
  • Graduate Teaching and Clinical Supervision experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
  • Names & Contact Information for no fewer than two references.
