Assistant Professor/Clinical – Cognitive Disorders Neurologist (1.0 FTE)

Job Description:

The physician who fills this position will develop a novel clinical practice and research in Cognitive Neurology and will have special interest and/or fellowship training in Dementia-Geriatrics and/or Behavioral Neurology. This position includes working with onsite neuropsychologists, geriatric, and movement disorders specialists for treatment of neuro-degenerative conditions. This candidate should have a broad interest in cognitive disorders to include dementia assessment and treatment, cognitive and behavioral neurology evaluation and evaluation for traumatic brain injury due to motor vehicle or athletic injuries.. 

Responsible for clinical service, teaching, and clinical investigation.

1. Provide care of patients in the Neurology Outpatient Clinic, with a specific focus on Dementia/Behavioral Neurology evaluation and treatment when those patients are available, as well as general neurology patients.
2. Perform consultations and admit Neurology patients to John Dempsey Hospital.
3. Teach medical students, medical residents, and neurology residents and fellows in outpatient clinic and John Dempsey Hospital.
4. Help develop clinical program in Cognitive Disorders/Dementia/Behavioral Neurology, with teaching and research components.

Minimum Qualifications: Neurology Residency; Board certified/eligible Neurologist

Special and Preferred Qualifications: Board certified/eligible in subspecialty.

One or more years of fellowship training,

Dementia-Geriatrics and/or Behavioral Neurology preferred
