THE ROLE:
We are seeking a full-time Director, Teaching and Learning Governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has dual focus areas of responsibility:
1) Maintaining and driving the College’s continuous improvement in academic quality and compliance. This includes maintaining regulatory responsibilities and compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (2021) and meeting the expectations of the regulator, the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) (approx. 0.6 FTE).
2) Responsible for the operational and academic management of the College’s online postgraduate programs. This work covers the recruitment of students, as well as ensuring high quality delivery of programs, review, and enhancement of all online postgraduate programs (approx. 0.4 FTE)
While we are seeking an individual who may have interest and displayed experience in the delivery of both these functions, we may be willing to consider the role(s) on a part-time basis for the right applicants.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Proven experience in higher education management (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in higher education academic governance and compliance management (or similar).
- Proven experience or exposure to postgraduate course delivery, and awareness of enrolment and related academic operations.
- Proven experience in curriculum design, assessment standards and accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to support and manage the work of an Academic Board or equivalent governance body.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to translate, inform and apply academic guidelines and principles within a non-hierarchical, highly consultative and collaborative environment.
- Excellent engagement with student cohorts and the ability to build strong relationships with prospective and current students and alumni.
- Exposure or deep interest in the Australian Agricultural Sector will be highly regarded.
QUALIFICATIONS
Postgraduate qualification in higher education, management, or related discipline (Doctoral completion, or enrolment or qualified entry will be highly regarded).
