Teaching Fellow of Hispanic Studies Department
The Hispanic Studies Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a 1-year position at the rank of Teaching Fellow, beginning August 15, 2026. The Teaching Fellow assists the department with its various initiatives, including Spanish Table, Spanish Club, the Volunteer Student Teaching program, the departmental newsletter, and the Teaching Assistant program, along with hosting the weekly Spanish-language campus radio show. The Teaching Fellow also assists a faculty member with the instruction of one Spanish language course per semester. The Teaching Fellow may be required to take two courses per semester at Hamilton College. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in working with diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would further the College's goal of building a diverse and inclusive educational environment. Candidates should have the equivalent of a Bachelor of Arts (4 year) college degree from an accredited university, at least 1 year of experience as Instructor, Teaching Assistant in Spanish language and/or Hispanic cultures, or comparable experience, and a minimum of advanced-intermediate level proficiency in spoken English. The teaching fellows will receive a stipend of $13,375, room, board, health insurance, round-trip transportation to and from Hamilton College from their home, and tuition benefits.
