Description

The Engineering Technology program at West Virginia University is seeking a Teaching Instructor for the area of Manufacturing Processes with a start date of January 5th, 2026. The successful candidate will engage in teaching undergraduate engineering students in courses related to theoretical and practical fundamentals of manufacturing and capstone projects related to manufacturing. This includes small-group, hands-on lab courses focused on all aspects of manufacturing including machining, CNC programming, CAD/CAM, GD&T, additive manufacturing, welding, and assembly operations. This is a full-time 9-month position with potential for additional pay during the summer.

The Statler College continues to grow and currently has seven academic departments and fifteen undergraduate degree programs with over 2,700 students and 147 faculty members. It is nationally recognized for high quality teaching and research, as well as for its excellent faculty and students.

West Virginia University is the comprehensive Land Grant University of the State of West Virginia with a main campus enrollment of over 25,000 students, and a Carnegie Classification of Highest Research Activity (R1 University). Morgantown and its vicinity have a population of about 62,000 residents and are ranked among the most livable small cities in the country. Qualifications

Candidates must possess a master's degree in safety management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related field AND either 1 year of teaching/laboratory experience at the college level OR a minimum of 5 years practical work experience. Candidates must have proven abilities in manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will be capable of engaging with a diverse population of students and incorporate state-of-the-art teaching techniques and methods in her/his teaching. Furthermore, classroom teaching of manufacturing processes and support of student/capstone projects is expected.
