Job Summary/Basic Function:

About the position:

The Technical Coordinator-Audio position operates within the Office of Visual and Performing Arts at the Ware Center for the Arts in downtown Lancaster. This position provides technical and production support for a wide variety of live events including music, theater, dance, lectures, conferences, and weddings. Job functions may include live audio, audio and video playback and recording, lighting, stage management, and general production-related setup, as well as basic repair, maintenance, and organization of technical spaces and equipment. As the Technical Coordinator with a focus on audio, this position operates as the primary audio engineer for the venue.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical theatre, entertainment technology, music business or other related field, or commensurate experience in high-level professional production
  • Three years of recent professional experience in entertainment industry/production. One year of post-secondary technical training may be substituted for one year of experience
  • Notable experience in mixing live audio for live music, theatre, and dance in a professional performing arts venue
  • Proficiency in:
    • Analog and digital sound consoles (Yamaha and Midas)
    • Live sound and recording techniques
    • Qlab
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, backline gear including amps, drum kits, and pianos
  • Experience in lighting, video, and stage management
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting technical systems, and basic repair of audio, lighting, and video equipment
  • Experience heading crews in a technical production environment
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful interview
  • Successful completion of three background checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an educational production environment
  • Experience with software such as AutoCad or Vectorworks, Lightwright, Pro Tools, and Adobe Suite
  • Experience in theatrical rigging and carpentry
  • Knowledge of BSS Soundweb London, ETC Concert, and Extron Control systems

Days Worked: Monday - Friday (Some evenings & weekends.)

Hours/Shift worked: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Some evenings & weekends.)
