The primary purpose of this position is to architect, manage, and maintain high-performance/high-availability information transport systems infrastructure that supports enterprise technology services:
- Provides cabling/wiring services for UNCG’s Layer 1 network/communications infrastructure.
- Designs, manages, and installs Commscope and Corning cabling systems in accordance with University design guidelines and standards.
- Ensures the timely repair of UNCG’s inside cable plant and outside cable plant.
- Collaborates with other ITS teams, the UNCG Facilities department, Designers, and Contractors to ensure UNCG’s structured cabling systems are properly designed, built, and protected during construction and renovation projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Mid-career with Master’s and 1-2 yrs experience; or Bachelor’s and 2-4 yrs experience; or equivalent education/experience.
