Temporary, Part-Time Special Education Instructor (Unsolicited)
Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Special Education is accepting applications for temporary part-time instructors to teach special education coursework and/or supervise student teachers. The Special Education Department at times needs temporary part-time Instructors to fill in for faculty on sabbaticals or leaves.
Temporary, part-time instructor responsible for teaching coursework and/or supervising student teachers on an as-needed basis.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Special Education or related discipline.
- 3 years full-time teaching experience.
- Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Successful interview.
- Successful teaching demonstration for class teaching assignments.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or ABD in Special Education or related discipline.
- Supervisory or Administrative experience in special education in the public school setting.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
