Temporary Research Assistant (2 Vacancies)
Position Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to work in the Department of Clinical and Preventative Nutrition Sciences.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Temporary Research Assistant, will assist with the day-to-day operations and the ongoing research projects in the Lab. The Temporary Research Assistant will work on IRB protocols, data collection and analysis, participant recruitment, and/or assist with preparation of research abstracts, manuscripts, posters and oral presentations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assists in the development and renewal of IRB protocols.
- Assists in data collection and data analysis.
- Coordinates participant recruitment and conduct comprehensive assessments.
- Conducts assigned literature searches.
- Assists in preparation of research abstracts and manuscript drafts, revisions, and submission in collaboration with the PI and graduate students.
- Assists in preparation of posters and/or oral presentations as required in collaboration with the PI and graduate students.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office Environment, moderate noise.
- The incumbent primarily in Newark with some remote work flexibility.
- Candidate will have access to a standard computer, phone, and internet access to perform the duties outlined. Data processing licenses will be provided.
- Must be willing to have a flexible working schedule for participant assessment.
