TENURE-TRACK PROFESSOR (OPEN RANK)
The University of Iowa's Department of Sociology and Criminology invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track position with research and teaching emphases in criminology, law, and justice. The position will begin August 19, 2026. We seek candidates with strong research and teaching records and exceptional promise who work within any of the subareas of criminology or criminal justice. We are particularly interested in candidates who focus on inequalities, crime and justice or international and comparative criminology. In addition to maintaining a strong record of high-quality research and obtaining external funding, the faculty member holding this position is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses that contribute to the core missions of our new Ph.D. in Criminology (https://sociology.uiowa.edu/graduate/criminology-phd) and our undergraduate program in Criminology, Law and Justice. We also hope to hire a candidate who can contribute to other areas of departmental strength.
