Tenured Faculty Position in Mining Engineering
The Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining in the Stephen J.R. Smith Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Queen’s University invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor with specialization in mine planning and design, orebody modelling and geostatistics. Exceptional candidates at the rank of Full Professor may be considered. The successful incumbent will be offered the endowed Helen and Arthur Stollery Professorship in Mining and Geological Engineering. The preferred start date is January 1, 2026.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering or a related discipline by the start date and professional engineering licensure in Canada or eligibility to obtain it. Main criteria include evidence of high-quality scholarly output, potential for outstanding teaching, commitment to academic excellence, ability to work collaboratively, and relevant industrial experience as an asset.
The successful candidate will contribute through service to the department, faculty, university, and community. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
