Testing Proctor
General Summary
The Part-Time Testing Proctor will proctor exams for students requiring specialized testing accommodations (use of technology for accessing content [e.g., ZoomText, speech-to-text, text-to-speech], double time exams, use of an oral reader, access to a scribe, access to a PCA, individual space due to verbal tics or vocal processing) or for testing outside of current testing center hours. The Testing Proctor ensures that testing protocol is followed beginning with checking scheduling needs in Accommodate, ensuring completed testing form and exam information by faculty, computer setup, checking in students, and proctoring exams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize the electronic system, Accommodate, to check scheduled exams, ensure all forms are completed, exams are uploaded, etc.
- Conduct any necessary follow up to ensure all required forms, documents, passwords/access, etc. is set prior to the date of scheduled exams
- Proctor exams for students requiring accommodations with a focus on exams testing accommodations beyond extended time and distraction-reduced environment
- Develop and maintain a set proctoring schedule each semester, including additional slots as needed for mid-terms and finals weeks.
- Check in students prior to administration of tests
- Ensure all necessary software is available and working
- Set-up computerized test stations for exams; provide explanations of testing to students; or other relevant instructions
- Ensure that testing materials are secured and computers are logged off at the end of a testing session
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a closely related field
- One (1) year of experience and/or training involving computerized test administration, academic assessment/placement, academic advisement/counseling, computer network operations, and computer system maintenance or equivalent
- Technical proficiency and software skills in an academic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative
Preferred Qualifications
- Proctoring or testing experience is strongly preferred
- Bilingual skills a plus
Additional Information
- Salary Range: $17 per hour in accordance with MCC Part-Time Wage Schedule
- Location: Lowell or Bedford campus as needed
- Hours: 18.5 per week, schedule to be determined upon hire
- Expected Start Date: December 2025
