UFT Diesel Instructor - Technical College Faculty
Job Description
Diesel Instructors are responsible for teaching in various courses as assigned. We are seeking instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching who desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. Teaching assignments will be located at the Riverland campus in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom and lab format as well as online, hybrid and lab format as well as online, hybrid and interactive television formats. Classes meet during daytime hours.
Salary Range
$44,143.67 - $73,609.32. The current salary range is up to $73,690. Full-time faculty work a 171-day contract during a nine-month academic year (mid-August to mid-May).
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement: Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in diesel mechanics technology.
Occupupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in diesel mechanics.
Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement: Course construction (credit course)*, Teaching/instructional methods (credit course)*, Student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course)*, Philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)**.
* Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Level Certification(s).
- Welding Knowledge.
- Ability to provide leadership in curriculum development and academic assessment activities.
- Commitment to departmental participation, vision, and planning.
- Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
- Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
