Required Qualifications:
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of assigned duties.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in space management, facilities planning, or a closely related area within a higher education, government, or large institutional setting.
- Demonstrated experience with space management and/or GIS software (e.g., AutoCAD, Archibus, AssetWorks AiM, ESRI ArcGIS).
- Proven ability to collect, analyze, and report on data related to space utilization, allocation, and planning.
- Supervisory experience, including direct oversight of technical staff or teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Geography, Urban Planning, Architecture, GIS, or a related field.
- Experience ensuring compliance with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) reporting requirements.
- Experience developing, implementing, and refining processes for space tracking, auditing and reporting.
Job Description:
The University Space Manager is responsible for overseeing the university’s space and asset management functions.
Job Duties:
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned staff.
- Develops and implements long-range and short-term space plans in alignment with university goals and master plans.
- Oversee space data collection, analysis and reporting to ensure data accuracy and compliance with institutional and state reporting requirements. Manage space allocation, planning and optimization to support academic, research, and administrative needs.
- Collaborate with University Stakeholders to understand and address space requirements and planning initiatives.
- Maintain and Improve space management systems and processes, including CAD, BIM, and GIS platforms, to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with THECB and other applicable reporting standards.
Additional Information to Applicants: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record in accordance with University Policy.
