Position Summary:

This role involves representing student voices on gendered violence prevention at UNSW by contributing ideas, feedback, and insights to initiatives, projects and campaigns. It includes attending meetings, collaborating with staff and students, providing basic administrative support, and engaging with student groups to ensure inclusive discussions.

This role will:

  • Represent student voices on gendered violence prevention at UNSW
  • Attend meetings, contribute insights, and share student experiences
  • Communicate with other members and the Safer Communities staff
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks in student-led meetings
  • Participate in evaluation activities to develop and improve the effectiveness of prevention initiatives
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:

  • Enrolled UNSW student.
  • Interest in working collaboratively with Safer Communities staff to advance the gendered violence prevention projects and initiatives at UNSW.
  • Good communications, teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Competent organisational and time management skills.

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to recognise debriefing or support may be required.
