Description of Work:
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks candidates for a Visiting Faculty position to begin in the Fall of 2026. The successful candidate will teach six (6) courses per year (3 per semester), including both undergraduate and graduate levels. Other duties include research and some service on department and college committees. Areas of Specialization (AOS) include Ancient Philosophy or Early Modern Philosophy. The Areas of Competence (AOC) include Ancient Philosophy and Early Modern Philosophy.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Philosophy or a closely related area is required by August 2026.
- Teaching expertise in Ancient Philosophy or Early Modern Philosophy.
- Teaching competence in Ancient Philosophy.
- Teaching competence in Early Modern Philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research expertise in Ancient Philosophy.
- Research expertise in Early Modern Philosophy.
- Strong potential for publication.
- Teaching competence in applied ethics (medical, environmental, food).
- Teaching competence in philosophy of law.
