Welding Lab Instructional Coordinator

The Welding Lab Instructional Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student success by reinforcing welding techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices. From assisting students with essential welding processes like OFC/W, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW to maintaining lab equipment and coordinating instructional materials, this role ensures an engaging and productive space for learning.
Collaboration is key, as this position works closely with faculty to prepare students for real-world applications, optimize lab usage, and maintain lab equipment. Responsibilities can include tutoring students individually or in small groups, managing lab supplies, and ensuring student safety. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical documents are essential.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and five years full-time equivalent welding and/or fabrication experience, or an equivalent combination of welding, education, and teaching experience. Journeyman certification (4 years) or Applied Associates Degree in welding (2 years) may count toward the required experience.
Required License and/or Certifications:
• A valid drivers license is required
• Forklift certification (to be obtained within one month of hire)
• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified in the 3G & 4G positions using the SMAW/FCAW welding processes, or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
Starting pay range: $43,250 - $51,900
Pay Grade: P4
