Writing Teacher / Coach in Academic and Professional English (0.8 fte)
Job Summary: The TU/e Language & Writing Center provides courses in Academic and Professional English and Dutch as a second language for students and staff. The role involves teaching and coaching academic writing in English for bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students, as well as professional writing for EngDs and English language classes for support staff.
Responsibilities: Teach and coach academic writing in English through bachelor’s and master’s writing workshops and courses; provide feedback on students’ academic writing; work with technical/engineering texts, AI-integrated models, online learning environments, and digital teaching tools; help students develop skills for writing readable and well-argued texts for academic and professional audiences.
Qualifications and Requirements: University graduate at master’s level or higher; experience in teaching or coaching university students; knowledge of the writing process and academic writing conventions; experience in teaching or coaching academic writing; openness to working with technical texts and digital tools.
What the Employer Offers: A fixed-term contract of 1 year with the possibility of extension or permanent appointment; monthly salary between €3,546 and €5,538 for full-time employment; additional benefits including a structural end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, favorable arrangements for holidays or sabbatical, professional development opportunities, partially paid parental leave, reimbursement for commuting expenses, and a generous employer contribution to the ABP pension plan.
