Position Summary
Oregon Institute of Technology, the premier public polytechnic university in the Pacific Northwest, and the Business & Technology Department (Management) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Information Technology / Health Informatics. The Information Technology / Health Informatics Faculty position will have teaching responsibilities in multiple areas of the Information Technology program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience working with software development projects, systems design, and analytics projects in a Health Care setting. This position will be in Portland, Oregon with some online courses required in load.
As part of their professional development, faculty will be expected to: pursue funded research to support student research and activities; build curriculum and labs in support of Oregon Tech’s information technology programming; establish industry relationships in support of student projects and internship experiences; and engage in scholarly activities aligned with their professional goals.

Minimum Requirements

Education:
Ph.D. or terminal degree in a related discipline. Candidates with a Master’s degree and a minimum of three years of post-graduation industry or teaching experience will also be considered. Degree focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Skills:
Candidate shall demonstrate knowledge in database administration, including SQL Server; big data methodologies utilizing infrastructures such as Hadoop or MongoDB; analytics platforms such as Tableau, SPSS, R, or PowerBI; and programming languages such as C#.NET, Python, and SQL. Candidate should have experience with Windows OS and Analysis Methodologies such as SCRUM or AGILE.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Evidence of prior teaching in higher education and/or relevant industry experience applying and designing technology solutions incorporating SDLC methodologies. Such experience should include implementing database solutions and data analytics technologies.
Research:
History of a current applicable research program through applied or empirical research.
