Departmental Objective
To support the “Students First” philosophy by providing exemplary service and support to facilitate the registration and matriculation of students and to promote the success of CNU students in achieving their goal of obtaining a college education.
Purpose of the Position
This position coordinates related activities associated with student degree, advising, and learner records; maintenance and verification of academic records; and data integrity of academic records. It interprets and communicates complex university policies and federal laws, such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. This position uses independent decision-making and problem solving within complex guidelines. It assists with activities associated with maintenance and retention of academic records in compliance with the Library of Virginia.

- Knowledge of higher education and university policies and procedures
- Knowledge of higher education programs
- Ability to interpret, communicate, and apply regulations and legal statutes
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex policies, procedures, rules, and regulations

- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to function well in a high volume environment

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education: High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
Experience: Experience working with confidential or classified information; Experience working with detailed records and/or data (with a high degree of accuracy)
Additional Consideration(s)
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience: Experience in an institution of higher education; Experience working with confidential academic records; Experience with SQL and CMS; Experience with Banner or other Student Information System databases; Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Supervisory Experience
