About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for an Accommodation Operations Leasing Officer to join the University Infrastructure team.
The Accommodation Operations Leasing Officer is responsible for managing applications and bookings across the University’s partnerships with purpose-built student accommodation, supporting strong occupancy outcomes and revenue performance.
Reporting to the General Manager Accommodation Operations, you will coordinate applications, bookings, and peak intake periods to ensure a seamless end to end leasing experience. You will support the delivery of occupancy and revenue targets through robust leasing processes, effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and a strong focus on data accuracy and system management.
The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with other members of the Accommodation Operations to ensure a high level of customer service, support and overall student experience is provided.
Due to the nature of this role, the position requires on-site attendance five days per week. The University of Sydney is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements, which may be accommodated where feasible.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- drive continuous improvement across the sales, marketing, booking and room allocation process so that the end-to-end process is seamless from early promotion of accommodation via initial University student correspondence, through to booking of accommodation and final room allocations
- ensure compliance with University of Sydney WHS Management System, including WHS Policies and Procedures
- assisting with general administrative services and operations support for the Accommodation operations business unit
- provide reports to the General Manager Accommodation Operations and others as required, on the progress and issues related applications, bookings, revenue and occupancy levels and ensure timely and accurate information is provided where necessary
- to maintain effective relationships within UI and the University, and with external stakeholders to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- to assist in the integration and operational readiness of any new student accommodation projects or acquisitions
- support annual budget and forecasting processes through the collation and analysis of leasing, occupancy and revenue data
- assist with rent setting and pricing reviews by preparing market bench-marking information and occupancy and revenue analysis to inform decision making.
About you
- relevant experience in accommodation leasing, property administration, student services, or a comparable customer focused operational role
- experience working in student accommodation or a similarly complex, regulated environment is highly desirable
- strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high application volumes, competing priorities, and peak intake periods
- high attention to detail and confidence working with data driven systems and processes
- strong communication skills and a customer focused approach, with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- confidence using administrative systems and digital tools, including the Microsoft Office suite and accommodation or booking systems such as StarRez
- ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
