Compensation: $72,008 to $81,056, depending upon education, qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits including generous employer contributions to medical, dental and vision premiums (100% paid by the College for the employee, 75% for dependents), life and disability insurance, participation in the Oregon PERS pension system, four weeks of paid vacation, 12 days of sick leave, and paid holidays (including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day).

What you will do…
- Perform contract and grant accounting, invoicing and reporting.
- Provide financial and budget support to contract and grant managers to ensure grant requirements are met.
- Assist with the processing and recording of accounts payable and receivable transactions. Verify and post details of business transactions, such as payroll, funds received and disbursed, and make appropriate journal entries with appropriate documentation.
- Assist with tracking bank transactions and reconciling bank statements, resolving discrepancies, uploading positive pay when required, and managing cash balances.
- Balance and reconcile accounts.
- Assist with procurement, travel and expense tracking.
- Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger, the ERP system, and other college accounting records.
- Assist with the processing of student accounts and financial aid disbursement and reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements. Support the year-end closing process and audit preparation.
- Assist with budget preparation, and the monitoring department of spending and revenues.
- Assist with and facilitate the distribution of timely and accurate financial information to employees, management, and the Board of Education.
- Provide training and assist other departments with financial issues.
- Stay updated with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
- Assist with tax filings, as well as state and federal reporting requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of data and internal controls.
- Document processes.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications for the position ….
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field.
- A high aptitude in accountancy and a good understanding of computers and their functions in accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Requires standing and walking, and the ability to intermittently kneel down, stoop, bend at the waist, twist at the waist and reach, or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly; have good vision to read print and a computer screen; have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive keyboarding, grasping, and reaching to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and/or standard office equipment; have ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion (boxes, paper, office supplies, etc.); have the ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, printers, multi-line phone systems); and have the ability to hear and speak to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone.
- Experience promoting equity-minded and diversely represented communications and materials, experience in responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and employees as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
Preferred for the position ….
- Work experience in higher education or public sector accounting.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
